| Description: The Introduction-to-StarSkate (ITS) program is geared towards skaters with prior experience who are interested in developing more figure-skating oriented skills. ITS is typically recommended for skaters who are working on their Stage 3 and up in our CanSkate program. The classes will be of 60 min duration, including 45 minutes of group instruction and 15 minutes of a coach-supervised practice time, encouraging skaters to build the independent practice skills necessary to make the transition into StarSkate. The ITS program requires skaters to participate in a minimum of two days per week to along with Skate Canada’s Long Term Development and have skaters continually progressing in their skating. Skaters are encouraged to attend dryland/ off ice sessions, included in your ice fees, that further supplement their training in the areas of jump technique, flexibility, cardio, and strength. Competition opportunities may be shared via email throughout the season for skaters that are interested, so keep an eye on your emails! No Class on Monday, May 18 |
